What's On Around The Hollows This Summer: Music at the Beach Club, Marina Nights, and Lake Days

If you have lived at The Hollows through the last two summers, you learned to read the shoreline before you planned your weekend. That habit is worth breaking this year. As of July 11, 2026, Lake Travis sat at 84.4% full according to Water Data For Texas, and the calendar inside the gates has quietly filled up to match. The Beach Club is running a music series every Thursday through late August. Northshore Marina has a themed event roughly every month. The neighboring towns are pushing their biggest programming of the year. The point of this post is simple: the community around your house is doing more this summer than it has in a while, and most of it is walkable, drivable, or a short boat ride from your dock.

The lake, by the numbers

Full pool on Lake Travis is 681 feet. Northshore Marina is the only deepwater floating marina on Lake Travis, with depths of 150 to 160 feet, which keeps it accessible during the level swings Texas lakes routinely see. That design detail matters more in some years than others. This is one of those years where it matters less, because the water is close enough to normal that the debate over ramp access has cooled off. Water levels at Lake Travis and Lake Buchanan had been steadily declining since the July 2025 floods, but Central Texas entered its wettest season and water lines have seen meaningful changes.

Read that against the marina's own status. Northshore is fully accessible during all water levels, so residents who slip a boat here have not been sidelined the way owners at shallower marinas have. That is the quiet subsidy of buying in on the North Shore: your access to the water is a function of engineering, not rainfall.

Thursdays are the anchor of the summer

The Beach Club at 7301 Maritime Pass is doing the heaviest lift on the resident calendar. The Hollows Summer Music Fest runs every Thursday from July 9 through August 27 at the Beach Club, which gives you eight consecutive weeks of live music without leaving the community.

Pair that with the Wild Hare. Every Thursday at the Wild Hare, Hollows kids can order a $7 Hot Dog Basket with chips, which turns Music Fest night into the least complicated dinner-and-a-show plan you will find inside a gated community this summer. The Wild Hare's broader seasonal hours are worth committing to memory if you have not already: Tuesday through Thursday and Sunday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

A few practical notes for planning around the Beach Club this summer:

  • Alcohol is not permitted at the Beach Club under TABC regulations, but it can be purchased from the Wild Hare Bar & Grill.
  • The spa is heated seasonally in the winter months, then stops for summer after Memorial Day weekend.
  • There are two propane BBQ grills, a smoker, covered seating under a pavilion with fireplace, a playground, and an amphitheater on the Beach Club side.

If you have visitors coming in, the second amenity to route them through is the Trailhead Club in the Canyons. Opened in 2022, the Trailhead Club has a lap-style pool, a covered patio, shaded lounge chairs, multiple sport courts for basketball and pickleball, and a playground, and it consistently reads quieter than the Beach Club on a peak Saturday. For anyone routing a workout in before the heat lands, that lap pool is the one to know.

The marina has its own social season

Northshore Marina is running a full 2026 calendar under general manager Charlotte, and it is easy to miss because most of it is announced by email and dock signage rather than the neighborhood app. The short version:

Event What it is
Start of Summer Party, May 16 Coastal Cowboy theme, benefits Folds of Honor, which provides scholarships for families of fallen service members and first responders
Father's Day Brunch Buffet, June 20 10 a.m. lakeside breakfast buffet, the Northshore team handles the food
BBQ Potluck Party Backyard barbecue, live country music on the docks
Luau Night Tropical theme, quesadillas, live music, BYOB with a Hawaiian-themed non-alcoholic punch on offer
Beer & Cider Tasting German-inspired food, live music, guests bring a six-pack of something unique and everyone samples across
Lighted Boat Parade Returning as a holiday event after a strong first run in 2025, a collaboration between Northshore Marina, VIP Lake Travis, Emerald Point Marina, and Lake Travis Lodges Marina

Two things stand out about that list. First, it is genuinely resident-facing. The luau and the beer tasting are the kind of events that ask you to show up in costume or bring something to share, which is a different social contract from a marina bar hosting a cover band. Second, it lines up cleanly with your Thursday Beach Club plans. You can put together a Friday-Saturday marina weekend without repeating yourself.

Worth knowing when you head down: Northshore has been named Marina Association of Texas Outstanding Marina of the Year six times, including 2024, and is the only deepwater floating marina on Lake Travis open to the public.

Off-property, still close

Jonestown proper is punching above its weight this summer for live music. If your Thursday is booked at the Beach Club, the rest of the week is playable within a fifteen-minute drive. Lucky Rabbit Jonestown, Stumpy's on Lake Travis, and Lone Star Bar all had multiple bookings on the same July 11 Saturday, and the Lucky Rabbit calendar keeps going with Agent Echo on July 17, PJ3 (a Pearl Jam trio) on August 1, and North of Luck on August 15. Solstice at 18637 FM 1431 is running an evening program the same weekends.

None of these are dressed-up rooms. That is the appeal. You spent the money to live on a private lakefront community. The bar down the road on 1431 does not need to try to be something it is not.

The July 4 stretch, if you did not book anything

The Fourth landed on a Saturday this year, and the North Shore leaned in. Lago Liberty Days continues at Bar-K Park with food, family activities, live entertainment, and a fireworks show over Lake Travis, and visitors arriving by boat are welcome to enjoy the festivities from the shoreline. That last detail is the one to underline if you have a slip at Northshore. You can watch the show from the water rather than fighting the parking around Bar-K.

Volente Beach Resort ran fireworks on July 2, 3, and 4 this year, with the waterpark opening at 11 a.m., live music from 7 p.m., and fireworks around 8:30 to 9 p.m. Volente is a short ride across the lake from The Hollows and worth putting on next year's list if you missed it this year.

If you slip a boat at Northshore, you have three fireworks shows within visual range of the water on a single holiday weekend, plus a home community running its own music program on Thursdays. That is a density of programming most Austin-area lakefront communities cannot match.

And if you are the kind of household that plans further out, Lago Fest 2026 ran Saturday, April 25 at Bar-K Park from 1 to 8 p.m. with free admission, Cory Morrow as the 6 p.m. headliner, and a lineup that included The Outlaw Years Band (a Willie Nelson tribute), Dysfunkshun Junkshun, and LC Rocks. Put the 2027 date on the calendar now. It is the largest single-day event on the North Shore and it is walkable from a boat slip.

The one thing to know

The reason all of this matters is that the North Shore is a lake community that occasionally functions as one and occasionally does not. The last time Lake Travis was considered full was July 2019, which means most current owners bought in during a stretch when the shoreline was doing something different every summer. This year, the lake is close enough to normal, the marina calendar is full, the Beach Club has eight consecutive Thursdays booked, and the nearby towns are running their strongest programming in years. If your default has been to keep the summer quiet, this is the year to break that habit.
